Today’s yoga class at work i had 4 new people including my FIRST GUY! Which was awesome! 🙂 Somehow he found out about my class! The theme of today’s class was Gratitude and I asked people to think of one thing to focus on, walk out of the class with or take with them into their day.
Then started with sukhasana
Cross legs twist
Seated forward fold and then Revolved head to knee (both sides)
Cat cow to child C
Low lunge with twist (both sides)
Thread the needle
Gate pose (both sides)
Dolphin (or downward dog or puppy)
Extended child’s pose and lateral stretch
1 leg wind releasing to revolved belly (both sides)
Supported Bridge with Block
I ended the class with a quote by John F Kennedy about: As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them
Today’s Daily Calm was about Escalation…specifically anger, and letting anger escalate – how easy it is to escalate in an argument, but if you pause before you get angry, then you will solve a lot of problems! It was said during the meditation that it takes about 20 minutes for adrenaline to get out of your system and for you to calm down – so to do something constructive during that time like movement (i.e. yoga) or go for a walk, get some fresh air etc. to save you from getting angry about something that maybe you shouldn’t get angry about and that you’ll regret later!
